According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, at dawn on Sunday, May 11, 2025, the death sentences of at least two Baloch prisoners who had previously been convicted of murder were carried out in Zahedan Central Prison.
The identities of the two executed Baloch prisoners were reported as Fereydoun Mohammadi ,approximately 36 years old, son of Mohammad Yousef, from Bagh-e Malek village in Fanouj County, and Mohammad Ali Miri, 48 years old, son of Hossein, a resident of Zabol.
Fereydoun had been arrested around seven years ago on charges of murder and was sentenced to death. He had been transferred from Chabahar Prison to Zahedan Central Prison. Mohammad Ali was arrested in 2019 in connection with a group altercation in Zabol, during which a murder occurred, and was also sentenced to death.
It is reported that in Mohammad Ali’s case, the victim’s family were close relatives of Zabol’s parliamentary representative, Mr. Farhad Shahreki, who allegedly influenced the court’s verdict. Meanwhile, the head of the Mirbalochzehi tribe, Sardar Vali Mohammad ,had attempted to gain the victim’s family’s consent to forgive, but they refused to grant pardon.
