According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, in the early hours of Saturday, May 3, 2025, the death sentence of a Baloch prisoner who had previously been convicted on drug-related charges was carried out in Bandar Abbas Prison.

The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Manouchehr Golani (Balochkareh), a 54-year-old man, son of Akbar, married with two children, originally from Minab and a resident of the Shahnaz neighborhood in Bandar Abbas.

According to sources, Manouchehr was arrested in Bandar Abbas around seven years ago on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death.

Sources added that on the evening of May 2, the prisoner’s family was contacted by prison authorities and went to the prison, where they were able to have a final visit with him.

Based on the Balochistan Human Rights Group’s 2024 annual report, at least 111 Baloch prisoners were executed in various cities in Iran. Among these, Zahedan Prison with 27 cases, Birjand with 13, and Yazd with 14 had the highest number of executions.
