According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, a Baloch citizen named Eshaq Irandegani, who had been arrested by security forces on August 30, 2024, was released from Zahedan Central Prison after six months and seven days (a total of 187 days) in detention, upon posting a bail of two billion tomans Iranian currency,

On Friday, August 30, 2024, security forces unlawfully contacted Eshaq Irandegani, a 32-year-old son of Ebrahim, falsely claiming to be kidnappers and demanding that he come to a specified location to retrieve his kidnapped brother, Esmail. Esmail had actually been arrested by security forces on August 27, but due to the authorities denying him the right to contact his family, his relatives believed he had gone missing and were searching for him.

According to the report, Eshaq, after attending Friday prayers, went to the designated location accompanied by some friends, where he was immediately arrested by security forces. After family members and relatives pursued the case, the authorities alleged that Eshaq and Esmail were responsible for the killing of Hossein Ali Piri, the slain police chief of Khash County.

It is worth mentioning that Esmail and Eshaq are cousins of Nazila Irandegani, who, along with her husband, two children, and two other relatives, was shot and killed on August 6, 2024, by plainclothes agents from the IRGC Intelligence and the Criminal Investigation Department under the command of Hossein Ali Piri. The attack occurred at the entrance of Khash city, where Nazila, along with the unborn child in her womb, was killed, while her two children and two relatives inside the vehicle were injured. Her husband was also wounded and subsequently arrested.

It should be noted that on Friday, August 23, 2024, Hossein Piri, the head of Khash County’s Criminal Investigation Department and a native of Zabol, was assassinated by armed members of the militant group Jaish al-Adl. In the preceding weeks, Piri had been involved in the violent harassment and unlawful arrests of Baloch citizens in the region.
