According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, Iranian military and security forces launched an attack using light and heavy weaponry on a residential house at the end of Ta’avon Street, Tohid Boulevard, in Chabahar. During this operation, the armed individuals inside the house opened fire in response, leading to intense clashes between the two sides.
Fariba Borhanzahi, a member of the Balochistan Human Rights Group, spoke with DW Persian about the details of this operation, stating:
What happened in Chabahar was not an ordinary clash. Iranian security forces targeted a residential house with light and heavy weapons, and even drones. The intensity of the conflict was such that surrounding buildings were also damaged.
She also expressed concern over the fate of those arrested, saying:
We have repeatedly seen that after such clashes, innocent people are arrested without any evidence and later accused of being affiliated with Jaish al-Adl. This is a recurring pattern that has caused immense suffering for many Baloch families.
It is worth mentioning that the armed group Jaish al-Adl issued a statement in response, announcing that two of its members were killed during the confrontation with Iranian security forces in Chabahar. The group also denied Iran’s claims about the arrests, calling them false.
