Iranshahr – February 25, 2025

On the evening of February 25, forces from the Tactical Unit opened fire indiscriminately at a vehicle carrying members of a family in the Chah-Jamal area of Iranshahr. As a result, Yousef Shahli-Boor, a 5-year-old child, along with his pregnant mother, Maryam Shahli-Boor (32), was shot and severely injured.

Tragic Death Amid Medical Shortages

Yousef, who sustained five bullet wounds, was rushed to Khatam Al-Anbia Hospital in Iranshahr. However, due to the absence of a surgeon and a prolonged delay in performing surgery, his condition deteriorated. Despite eventually undergoing surgery, he passed away while the attending doctor was tending to his mother.

Initial reports indicated that there was only one available surgeon at the hospital. The child’s relatives had expressed deep concerns over the lack of medical resources, warning that he was losing his life due to the unavailability of proper treatment. His mother remains in the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU).

Unjustified Shooting and Official Silence

According to reports, after the shooting and transferring the injured to the hospital, the Tactical Unit forces left the scene without providing any explanation. As of the time of this report, no security or judicial authority has given any clarification regarding the reason for the shooting or the actions of the Tactical Unit.

This incident has once again highlighted the severe lack of medical facilities in Iranshahr and raised serious concerns about the safety of civilians and the accountability of responsible authorities.
