According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on the evening of February 19, 2025, a Baloch fuel carrier named Behzad Shahiki, 25 years old, son of Mohammad Noor and a resident of Rigan County, lost his life after being pursued by the emergency forces of Bam.
According to this report, around 8 PM, Behzad’s vehicle was chased by the emergency unit forces near the police checkpoint in Bam. During the pursuit, his vehicle collided with a truck, caught fire, and Behzad tragically lost his life in the flames.
Based on the annual report of the Balochistan Human Rights Group, at least 479 fuel carriers were killed or injured in various incidents from the beginning of 2024 to the end of that year. Of this number, 253 lost their lives, and 226 were injured. In shootings, chases, and physical assaults by military forces, 136 people were killed or injured, of whom 63 died and 75 were wounded. Two of these shootings were carried out by Pakistani military forces.
Additionally, in attacks and shootings by unidentified armed individuals and thieves, 3 fuel carriers were killed, and 7 others were injured. In 2024, at least 2 fuel carriers drowned while working. Furthermore, 3 people died, and 7 suffered burns in fire-related incidents.
