According to reports, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, a Baloch farmer lost his life after hitting a landmine while riding his motorcycle on the way to his farmland in the border area of Rotek, Mirjaveh. The lack of warning signs in the mined area led to this tragic incident.

The victim has been identified as Hassan Shahnavazi, approximately 30 years old, the son of Majid, and a resident of the Rotek region in Mirjaveh County.

Reportedly, the landmine, planted by the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), caused severe injuries to Hassan Shahnavazi. Despite efforts by local residents to transfer him to a hospital in Saravan, he succumbed to his injuries due to their severity.

The absence of warning signs in IRGC-mined areas, a clear violation of international regulations, continues to endanger the lives of innocent citizens, especially farmers and locals. Authorities’ negligence regarding the safety and lives of citizens has led to the recurrence of such tragedies in border regions.
