According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Saturday, January 18, 2025, a Baloch citizen named Morteza Rigi, 35 years old and a resident of Zahedan, was arrested by security forces and transferred to an unknown location.

Morteza was arrested around 3 PM on Khomeini Street in Zahedan. Despite his family’s efforts, no information about his whereabouts or condition has been made available.

He was previously arrested on October 16, 2022, during widespread protests in Balochistan, when security forces raided his home without a warrant. He was released after 24 days but has since been repeatedly threatened with arrest by intelligence forces.

No details about the charges against him or the detaining authority are available at this time.
