According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, police forces in the Rotek area of Mirjaveh County opened fire on several fuel carrier vehicles without fuel, without prior warning or signals to stop. As a result, the driver of one of the vehicles was injured by gunfire.
The identity of the injured driver has been reported as Afshin Gamshadzahi approximately 18 years old, son of Mohammad Ramazan, and a resident of Khash.
According to this report, in the afternoon, police forces in the Rotek area directly shot at several Toyota fuel carrier vehicles without cargo, without any warning or signals to stop. One of the drivers was injured by bullets in the back and lungs, and several bullets also hit other vehicles.
Based on an annual report, from the beginning of 2023 to the end of the year, at least 321 fuel carriers have been killed or injured in various incidents. Among these, 28 fuel carriers lost their lives, and 17 were injured in direct shootings by military forces. Additionally, 194 people died, and 58 were injured in road accidents. In shootings by unknown armed individuals, 8 people were killed, and 2 were injured. In other incidents, such as floods, fires at fuel storage sites, and one unspecified case, at least 14 individuals were killed or injured.
