Last night, on January 13, 2025, a Baloch citizen lost his life after being shot by military forces targeting a broken-down vehicle being towed in the Jozek area of Khash County.

The identity of the victim has been confirmed as “Aref Kurd,” 35 years old, married, and a father of three children. He was a resident of Gazak village in the Sangan region of Khash County.

The incident occurred around 11:00 PM. Military forces opened fire directly at his vehicle, which was being towed by another car, without any prior warning or request to stop. Aref sustained severe gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital.

According to reports collected in 2023, direct shootings by military forces resulted in the deaths or injuries of at least 120 Baloch citizens. Among these, 80 individuals lost their lives, and 40 were injured, including 9 children and 3 women.
