On Thursday, January 9, 2025, law enforcement forces (FARAJA) opened fire on a passenger car near the Sahalabad checkpoint in Nehbandan County without prior warning or orders to stop. The shooting resulted in the death of both passengers in the vehicle.

The victims have been identified as Amir Mahmoudi (Sanjarani), 30 years old, son of Mansour, married and father of three children, and Hossein Sarani Rad, 30 years old, son of Seyedkhan, married and father of four children.

According to reports, FARAJA forces ambushed near the checkpoint and opened fire on the vehicle without any prior warning, instantly killing both individuals.

Despite the efforts of the victims’ families to seek clarification, military officials have failed to provide a clear response. They claim that drugs were found in the vehicle.

Reports indicate that in 2023, direct shootings by security forces in Baloch regions caused the death or injury of at least 120 people. Among them, 80 lost their lives and 40 were injured, including 9 children and 3 women.
