According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, at dawn on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, the death sentence of a Baloch prisoner convicted of drug-related charges was carried out in Kerman Prison.

The identity of the prisoner has been confirmed as Hamid Ashna 29 years old, son of Allah Nazar, married and the father of two children. He was originally from Shoro village in Zahedan County and a resident of Zahedan. According to the report, Hamid was arrested approximately five years ago in Kerman on drug-related charges and was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of this city. On the morning of January 7, 2025, he was transferred from Ward 4 of the prison to solitary confinement in preparation for the execution and had his final meeting with his family later that evening.

It is worth noting that, in 2023, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed in 26 cities across Iran on various charges. Among these, Zahedan Prison recorded 54 executions, and Birjand Prison followed with 31, marking them as the locations with the highest number of executions. Among the executed individuals, at least four were women.

These statistics highlight the continuous and systematic violation of human rights against the Baloch minority in Iran.
