According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, early this morning, Sunday, January 5, 2025, a Baloch prisoner who had been transferred to the quarantine section of Adelabad Prison in Shiraz on Saturday morning, January 4, around 9:00 AM, for the execution of his death sentence, was executed.
The identity of the Baloch prisoner has been confirmed as Khalil Alizahi (Sargalzahi), 45 years old, son of Mohammad Omar, married with eight children, and a resident of Zahedan.
According to this report, Khalil was arrested about two years ago at a checkpoint in Qatruyeh, located in Neyriz County, on drug-related charges. He was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz. On Saturday, he was transferred from Ward 4 of Adelabad Prison to solitary confinement for the execution of his sentence. Friends of Khalil informed his family of this development through a phone call.
It is worth noting that in 2023, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed on various charges in 26 different cities across Iran. Among these, Zahedan Prison with 54 executions and Birjand Prison with 31 executions had the highest numbers. At least four women were among those executed.
