On Sunday, December 22, 2024, a Baloch fuel carrier who had been severely injured on Friday, December 20, 2024, due to the overturning of his fuel-carrying vehicle and a subsequent fire in the Kaskin area of Iranshahr County, passed away in a hospital in Kerman after three days due to the severity of his injuries.

The identity of the deceased fuel carrier has been reported as “Naib Barahouyi,” approximately 27 years old, son of Najib, and a resident of Bam.

On Friday, December 20, Naib’s vehicle veered off its path for unknown reasons near the Kaskin area in the vicinity of Iranshahr, overturned, and caught fire. As a result of the accident, Naib sustained severe injuries and was initially transferred to a hospital in Iranshahr and later to a hospital in Kerman, where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to the 2023 report by the Balochistan Human Rights Group, at least 321 fuel carriers have been killed or injured in various incidents. Among them, 28 lost their lives and 17 were injured in direct shootings by military forces. In road accidents, 194 were killed, and 58 were injured. Additionally, 8 people were killed and 2 injured in shootings by unidentified armed individuals. In other incidents, including floods, fires at fuel storage sites, and one unspecified case, at least 14 people were killed or injured.
