On the evening of Tuesday, December 3, 2024, a female Baloch lawyer was targeted by unknown armed assailants on Bozorgmehr Street in Zahedan. The attack occurred as she was exiting her car and was fired upon by passengers of a Pride vehicle. She was critically injured after being shot four times in the head and, despite being transferred to Imam Ali Hospital in Zahedan, succumbed to her injuries.
The victim has been identified as “Somayeh Hosseinbar (Molazahi),” approximately 37 years old, originally from Geshk in Saravan County and a resident of Zahedan.
The attack took place around 6:30 PM, and the motives and identities of the assailants remain unknown as of now.
According to reports collected in 2023, at least 192 Baloch citizens have been targeted in armed attacks by unknown assailants, resulting in 150 deaths and 42 injuries. Among the victims were at least five children and four women.
