On the evening of Friday, November 29, 2024, security forces fired at a car carrying a Baloch teenager and two others near the Zangutan River in Nikshahr County. Ismail Balochi, 15 years old, was shot in the heart and died instantly.

The security forces opened fire without warning and unlawfully targeted the vehicle. Ismail, sitting in the front passenger seat, was fatally shot. The security forces fled the scene after the attack.

In 2023, shootings by security forces in Balochistan led to at least 120 casualties, including 9 children and 3 women. Among the victims, 80 people were killed, and 40 others were injured.

The unprovoked and unlawful shootings by security forces in Balochistan are a clear violation of human rights, condemned under international laws, particularly the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and international conventions on children’s rights and the right to life.
