At dawn on Thursday, November 28, 2024, the death sentences of two Baloch prisoners, identified as Davood Mohammadi Takht-Shah (Dahmardeh), 33, and Osman Dahmardeh, 26, were carried out in Yazd Prison. The two individuals, along with another prisoner, had been transferred to solitary confinement on Tuesday, November 26, in preparation for the execution.

Davood and Osman were arrested in 2019 on charges related to drug trafficking on the Yazd-Ardakan highway and were sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Yazd. On November 27, the day before their execution, they were granted a final meeting with their families. However, their relatives have stated that no drugs were found in their vehicle or on their persons. The two prisoners denied all charges in court, insisting that the drugs discovered at another location did not belong to them. Despite this, their death sentences were carried out after nearly six years.

According to reports, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed in 2023 across 26 cities in Iran, with Zahedan and Birjand prisons accounting for the highest numbers. Among those executed, at least four were women.
