Yesterday, November 17, 2024, a Baloch cleric who had been arrested on September 23 following a raid by IRGC intelligence forces on two herbal and spare parts shops in the city of Khash, was released after 88 days from Zahedan Central Prison.

The identity of the cleric has been confirmed as Moulavi Mohammad Amin Muradzahi, son of Moulavi Abdulrahim, married, and father of five children. He is also the son-in-law of Moulavi Abdulmajid Muradzahi, a former prisoner.

On the morning of September 23, around 10:00 AM, IRGC intelligence forces raided the mentioned shops without presenting any legal warrant. Following the cleric’s arrest, they confiscated the family members’ mobile phones during house searches. This operation faced resistance and objections from residents, which were met with threats, violence, and the risk of arrest by security forces.

Moulavi Mohammad Amin is the head of the charitable group at the Khalafaye Rashidin Grand Mosque in Esmailabad, Khash, and a teacher at Darul-Huda Seminary in the same region. The reasons for his detention remain unknown as of the time of reporting.
