In Zahedan Central Prison, Yaqub Narouei, a 26-year-old Baloch prisoner, was executed on drug-related charges. Yaqub, who was from the village of Anbar Tapeh Attaabad in Aq Qala County, Golestan Province, had been arrested in 2021 and sentenced to death. He met with his family for a final visit on Sunday, November 3, before the execution.

On the same day, at least four prisoners were executed in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad, two of whom were from the Sistan and Balochistan Province. Mahmoud Shahreki, 44, from the village of Fathollah in Zabol, and Mohammad Reza Davar, also from Zabol, were executed on drug-related charges.

In 2023, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed in Iran, with the highest number of these executions taking place in the prisons of Zahedan and Birjand.
