Yesterday, November 4, 2024, a Baloch fuel carrier was fatally injured after intelligence forces in Rigan opened fire on his vehicle near the “800-meter Bridge” in Rigan County. After being wounded by gunfire, he was taken to the hospital by intelligence agents, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The identity of the fuel carrier has been reported as “Alireza Balochi (Ahoorani),” a 26-year-old from Iranshahr, residing in Bampur. He was married and had children.
According to the report, at around 3:40 a.m., intelligence forces in an unmarked Samand vehicle ambushed fuel carriers and, without prior warning or signal to stop, fired on Alireza’s vehicle, striking him in the kidney area.
Following the indiscriminate shooting by Rigan’s intelligence forces and Alireza’s resulting injury, security forces detained him and escorted him to Rigan Hospital, where he died a few hours later due to the severity of his injuries.
Based on an annual report, between the beginning and end of 2023, at least 321 fuel carriers were reported killed or injured in various incidents. In direct shootings by military forces, 28 fuel carriers lost their lives, and 17 were wounded. Traffic accidents claimed 194 lives and injured 58 others. In attacks by unidentified armed individuals, 8 people were killed, and 2 were injured. In other incidents such as floods, fires at fuel storage sites, and one unspecified case, at least 14 people were killed or injured.
