Early this morning, Tuesday, November 5, 2024, municipal and Housing Foundation officials, along with military forces in multiple military and civilian vehicles, raided the Muradabad area of Chabahar city, demolishing and confiscating several residential homes belonging to Baloch citizens.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., municipal and Housing Foundation forces, accompanied by police and plainclothes agents, arrived in Muradabad with at least 15 military and civilian vehicles and a bulldozer, demolishing several homes in the area. These forces announced that the lands were being seized for the benefit of the Islamic Republic.
As part of the “Makran Coastal Development” plan, known among Baloch locals as the “Balochistan Coastal Seizure Plan,” millions of non-local citizens have been relocated to this region. After building housing and settlements, the government has provided various incentives to support their resettlement.
According to received reports, in 2023 alone, security and governmental institutions of the Islamic Republic of Iran engaged in at least 21 incidents of demolishing homes and seizing people’s lands in five Baloch-populated cities, with most incidents occurring in Chabahar and Zahedan.
