At dawn on Monday, November 4, 2024, the death sentences of two Baloch prisoners, who had previously been convicted of murder and drug-related charges, were carried out by authorities in Kahnuj Prison. These prisoners had been transferred to the quarantine section of the prison the day before.

The two executed prisoners have been identified as “Yousef Ahmadi,” a 32-year-old son of Qasem from the village of Cheragh-Suz in Bashagard, Minab County, and “Mansour Rastakhiz (Karimi),” the son of Mousa from Tokhur, a district in the Minab region.

According to this report, Yousef was arrested in 2019 on charges of murder in Minab County and sentenced to qisas (execution) by the criminal court in that region. Mansour was arrested in Kahnuj in 2020 on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the revolutionary court in that city.

It is reported that both prisoners had their final visits with their families the day before the execution.

It is worth noting that, in 2023, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed on various charges across 26 cities in Iran, with Zahedan Prison recording 54 executions and Birjand Prison 31. Among these prisoners, at least four were women.
