On the morning of Wednesday, October 16, 2024, a Baloch citizen in the Keshavarz area of Zahedan was killed as a result of direct gunfire by intelligence forces. This citizen, identified as “Jalil Bajizehi,” 28 years old and a resident of Zahedan, was shot after being chased by intelligence officers. He died instantly from a bullet wound to the head.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. Reports indicate that Jalil Bajizehi was shot near his home, and afterwards, intelligence forces moved his body inside his house. The intelligence officers claimed that Jalil committed suicide using his personal firearm, but eyewitnesses rejected this claim, insisting that he was killed by direct gunfire from intelligence forces.
According to available reports, in 2023, direct shootings by military forces resulted in the death or injury of at least 120 Baloch citizens, of whom 80 lost their lives and 40 were injured. Among the victims were 9 children and 3 women.
