On Wednesday, October 9, 2024, Mohammad Abdolkarimi, a 23-year-old Baloch worker from Sarsoreh village, tragically lost his life due to a gas tank explosion while repairing a fishing vessel in Bandar Lengeh. The incident occurred due to a lack of safety measures in a shipbuilding company.
Mohammad, the son of Shir Khan, had traveled to Hormozgan province after completing his military service to work at a shipbuilding company and save money for his upcoming wedding. However, the unsafe working conditions and lack of safety precautions turned his efforts to start a new life into a heartbreaking tragedy.
This incident is just one example of the widespread challenges faced by young Baloch individuals. Due to the lack of job opportunities in Balochistan, many are forced to migrate to other provinces for work, often facing social and economic discrimination in the process.
