At dawn today, Tuesday, September 17, 2024, the execution of Hamidreza Hassanzehi Thani, 60 years old, was carried out in Bandar Abbas Prison. Hamidreza, a father of 8 from Zahedan, was arrested in 2021 on drug-related charges and sentenced to death.
His family had their final visit with him on Monday, September 16, before the execution.
According to reports, at least 184 Baloch citizens were executed in Iran in 2023. This number includes at least 4 women, with the highest number of executions taking place in the prisons of Zahedan and Birjand.
