On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, IRGC intelligence plainclothes forces in the village of Kolchat, Khash County, opened fire on a moving car without prior warning, resulting in the death of the driver and severe injury to a 17-year-old passenger.

  • Injured: Behzad Shahouzehi, 17, nephew of Nader

According to reports, the vehicle was shot multiple times near the village’s gas station, leading to Nader’s immediate death and Behzad sustaining critical injuries. The security forces allegedly ambushed the vehicle with five unmarked cars, then transported the victims to Khash Hospital and the morgue.

Aftermath

Nader’s body is held in Khash morgue, and despite a payment of 170 million tomans (Iranian currency) by the family, it has not been released. There is no known reason for the shooting, and the victims had no illegal items or anti-regime activities.

In 2023, at least 120 Baloch citizens were killed or injured by direct military shootings, including 80 deaths and 40 injuries, among them nine children and three women.
