According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, the execution of two Baloch prisoners, Nabi Bakhsh Mollazahi (61 years old) and Mohim Jangizahi, was carried out in Minab prison on Monday, July 29, and Tuesday, July 30, 2024, respectively.
Nabi Bakhsh Mollazahi, a resident of Kheirabad village in the Banpur district, was sentenced to death for drug-related offenses. Mohim Jangizahi, a resident of Gabrik rural district in the Jask district, was sentenced to death for the murder of a citizen.
Mohim Jangizahi, who turned himself in to the judiciary in 2020, was executed on the morning of Monday, July 29. Nabi Bakhsh Mollazahi, who was arrested in 2019 for drug-related offenses, was also sentenced to death.
According to this report, at least 36 Baloch citizens have been executed since the beginning of 2024, highlighting human rights violations against this ethnic minority. In 2023, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed in 26 different cities across Iran, with the highest numbers recorded in Zahedan (54 cases) and Birjand (31 cases) prisons. Among those executed, at least four were women.
