According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, last night on July 22, 2024, a collision between a Peugeot car and a Scania truck on the Nikshahr to Chabahar road resulted in the deaths of six members of a family. Three of the deceased, including “Faramarz Narmanshiri,” “Halimeh Narmanshiri,” and “Maryam Narmanshiri,” were residents of Iranshahr. The identities of the other three, including a young girl, have not yet been determined.
The accident occurred around 10:00 PM near the city of Nikshahr, when the Peugeot car collided head-on with the truck. All passengers in the car died instantly.
The lack of adequate road infrastructure in Balochistan, coupled with the systematic neglect by the government in developing this region, neglecting the basic needs of the people, such as improving roads and increasing travel safety, has made deadly accidents a common occurrence in this area.
