According to the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Saturday, July 13, 2024, Abdulmalek Shahouzehi, a 38-year-old stateless Baloch citizen, was arrested by the police in the city of Zabol without a judicial warrant or charges being communicated, and was transferred to an unknown location.
Shahouzehi’s family and relatives have made inquiries, but the authorities have not disclosed his current whereabouts. It is reported that he was initially taken to a foreign nationals’ camp for deportation and later transferred to another location in Zahedan.
The reason for his arrest and the charges against him remain unknown. It is worth noting that thousands of Baloch citizens in Balochistan remain without identification documents due to the strict laws of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the failure of security agencies to verify their identities, resulting in occasional arrests and deportations by military forces.
