A Baloch child drowned in a Hotak in the Dashtiyari district on Friday, May 3, 2024. The victim, Nauman Bashkar, 8 years old, was playing near the reservoir in Dour village when he fell in and tragically lost his life despite efforts by locals to save him.

Similarly, Today , May 5, 2024, another 8-year-old Baloch child, Salman Jam Khan, lost his life due to drowning in a reservoir(Hotak) in the Tang area of the Qasr-e Qand district. Both incidents highlight the lack of proper water supply infrastructure and the negligence of authorities in securing open reservoirs, leading to numerous child drownings and attacks by crocodiles annually in the Chabahar, Dashtiyari, and Qasr-e Qand rural areas
