According to the report by the Balochistan Human Rights Group, on Tuesday, April 29, 2024, the execution sentences of at least two Baloch prisoners were carried out in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad and Kahnuj Prison.
The identities of these Baloch prisoners are stated as Alireza Sergolzai, 25 years old, son of Gholam-Nabi, married with two children, a resident of Zahedan, and residing in the Tajrabad area of Mashhad city, and Mehdi Bamri.
According to the report, Alireza was detained in his home in the Tajrabad area of Mashhad by military forces in 2021 on charges related to drugs, released on bail from prison after a while, and then detained again without summons. After his re-arrest, he was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad and transferred from the public ward of Vakilabad Prison to solitary confinement on Monday April 28, 2024, for the execution of the sentence.
It should be noted that Alireza was the head of the family after the death of his father, including his brother and mother, and had no criminal record.
Additionally, Mehdi Bamry (Mirkhi), who was accused of murder in Khash Prison, was executed.
On April 29, 2024, Mehdi Bamry (Mirkhi), 24 years old, son of Morad, from Chah Mohammad Delgan village, was executed on charges of murder in Kahnuj Prison.
It is worth mentioning that in 2023, at least 184 Baloch prisoners were executed on various charges in 26 different cities of Iran, with Zahedan prisons having the highest number of executions with 54, followed by Birjand with 31. Among these prisoners, there are at least four women.
